My name is Amy Langeler.  I live in Michigan but, let me assure you, I’m a Southern lady…born and raised in Louisiana.  If you prick me, I’ll bleed purple and gold (Geaux Tigahs!).  My Southern roots run deep. I grew up surrounded by French culture and rich Cajun cuisine.  I’m married to a hard-working man with integrity, we have two amazing kids and a dog named Teddy. I have a sincere appreciation for eclectic/vibrant art, I have a keen eye for detail, and I never miss a deadline.  I’m a “glass half full” person and look for the positive in any situation. As an Enneagram 3w2 and ESFJ personality, I’m very extroverted, and love to use exclamation points…a lot! I believe that everyone has something to offer, and you can find art in virtually anything. I also have a slight obsession with the color coral.

My primary discipline is graphic design.  I have extensive book, advertising, and marketing design experience.  I’m a brand conceptualist and know how to get your company noticed through innovative product and packaging designs…which I also do.

Should you choose to work with me, you will be treated with integrity, respect, and fairness.

Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Amy

After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama, I began creating, conceptualizing, and designing for companies and organizations as a freelance graphic designer.

I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma and worked as the Creative Design Manager for a soccer advertising and marketing agency. I managed and art directed all of the agency’s trade show marketing pieces and direct mail. I also spent several years managing all pre-press art and design for a high-quality commercial printer. In this job, I learned most of what I know about 4-color printing and the process it takes to get my customer the right product with superb quality.

Shortly before I married, I moved to my husband’s home state…Michigan.  Yes, I married a northerner.  After 23 years, I’m still trying to get used to the winter.

I took a position as Composition/Production Artist at Zondervan where I designed trade book interiors and flowed text for more than forty-three signatures per book. The Production Artist position was a stepping-stone to my next position as an Art Director for Inspirio, the gift group of Zondervan. I provided innovative designs, art directed all gift books and some boutiques, and designed and managed Inspirio’s most profitable product line, Book & Bible Covers.

Not only did I help implement the brand launch of Inspirio, formerly known as ZondervanGifts, but I also created brands for several companies including Take Flight, Michwave Technologies, Inc., Architectural Woodwork Institute, Louisiana Employers Mutual Insurance Company, FitLife Consulting, and Glacken Health & Wellness, to name a few.

It was my heart’s desire to work from home while raising a family. I shared this desire with my boss at Zondervan and let her know I wanted to start my own freelance graphic design business and get established before having a family. She said, “We’ll be your biggest client.” And they were.

In January 2002, I started Langeler Design. I was burning the midnight oil while my cat, Noah, slept on my desk. I joked that I should’ve named my business Four Walls and a Cat. A year and a half later, we had our first baby and my dream of being a working stay-at-home mom came true. It has been both rewarding and a blessing to not only be home and available to my kids but also continue designing.
